My Confession

November 4, 2009 at 10:27 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

Confession of a Lukewarm Christian

When people say Christians are hypocrites they are talking about me.

Jesus told me to feed the Hungry … James 2:15-17 Isa 58:6-7
Instead I filled my pantry with far more than I could eat

Jesus told me to spend time with his people … James 1: 27, Colossians 4:4-6
Instead I spent my time at the movies

Jesus told me to cloth the poor … Luke 18:21-25 Isa 58:6-7
Instead I filled my closet with brand name clothes

Jesus told me to ask for wisdom … James 1:5
Instead I remained ignorant

Jesus told me to draw close to him … Isa 29:13, Col 3:1-2, James 4:8
Instead I surfed the Internet

Jesus told me to reach the suffering … Luke 14:12-14
Instead I filled my week with Church activities

Jesus told me not to be concerned with trials … James 1:2-4, 12, Matt 10:32-33, Heb 10:38
Instead I backed down in fear rather than talking about my faith

Jesus told me to stand up for the weak … Psalms 12:5,  Col 3: 12
Instead I stood up for what was popular

Jesus told me to love my neighbor as my self … Matt 22:39, James 2:8
Instead I refused to go out of my way to make time for them in my schedule

Jesus told me to love my enemy… Matt 5:43-47
Instead I gossiped about them

Jesus told me to forgive … Eph 4:31-32, Col3:12-14, Matt 18:21-22
Instead I remembered every wrong

Jesus told me to have a relationship with him … Matt 23:25-28, 16: 24-25
Instead I played religion

If you have met me or people like me you have not experienced Jesus. You have experienced Christians in the world consumed by culture. I challenge you to learn who Jesus is not what we have portrayed him to be.

If you are like me, I challenge you to change with me, and start living a life of Faith not of comfort.  To learn more: read Crazy Love by Francis Chan or join the group No Longer Lukewarm on Facebook a group where we can encourage each other to break the cycle of the lukewarm Christian.

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive your-selves. Do what it says” James 1:22

Three questions everyone wants to answer

June 17, 2009 at 10:03 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , )

Three questions everyone wants the answer to…

I was talking with a good friend the other day about how difficult it can be to talk to people about what Jesus did on the cross. We asked ourselves, why the life of Jesus would be relevant to someone who didn’t believe in the first place, and what would someone have to realize before they understand the relevance of the cross?

We came up with three main questions it seems like everyone is trying to answer.
1. What happens after death?
2. What is my purpose in live?
3. Where did this incredible earth come from?

Without the answers to questions 2 and 3 it would be easy to believe that after death all that’s left is the grave, and without the answer to question 3 it might be easy to believe that our purpose is to simply live a “good-happy” life and die; but the answer to question 3 mixes it up.

If you have enough faith to believe that from absolutely nothing, something began to evolve into an incredibly complex universe where:
• Earth happens to be the perfect distance from the sun,
• Creating the perfect habitat for life,
• And from amebas over millions of years humans evolved,
• Covering up all evidence of a necessary middle stage of evolution
then you have your answer to all three questions and you can carry on with a “good-happy” life style but if that answer doesn’t make the cut then what?

If the answer to question 3 is that God created everything in the universe and loves us more than anything! Then we have to ask ourselves again would the God of the universe have given us a purpose and is it possible that there is life after death?

The life of Jesus Christ and the Bible answer each of these questions with complete accuracy.

We are the only species on the Earth trying to answer these questions… the Bible says in Romans 1:19-20

They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see this invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

God gave us the tools to tell the world about his love, he build them in the world we live in and build the desire for these answers into everyone … now we just have to be bold enough to use them!

Obama FOCA

November 5, 2008 at 6:42 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , )

Yesterday, America elected the most pro-abortion President in our history. President-Elect Barack Obama has a 100% approval rating from pro-abortion forces, defends his opposition to the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban as well as, the anti-infanticide bill, the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.

In addition, Obama has promised to appoint Supreme Court Justices in the pro-abortion mold of Ginsburg and Souter and sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). The Freedom of Choice Act will override all restrictions on abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy in all 50 states including the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and parental notification.

As president, Obama promises to first sign the Freedom of Choice Act,
which would overturn the ban on this barbaric procedure. It would also
nullify parental consent laws, and use tax dollars to fund abortions.

God is Amazing

October 30, 2008 at 3:49 am (Uncategorized) (, )

God is AMAZING!!

Our God is so AMAZING!! No matter what mistakes we make no matter how many times we think our plan is better and forget that his plan is perfect he still loves us no matter what!!! We don’t deserve anything yet he gave us eternity to spend with him, knowing that our whole lives we would constantly forget what he did for us!! Thats an Amazing God ….

Think.. if everyone who Loved God gave up everything to follow him, even just put him at the front of our thoughts and actions every day, how he could use us to shake this world!! Thats an amazing thought!! ….

I will fall daily but i pray that i can do my best to keep my eyes on him!! ….

Zimbabwe Pastor’s Prayer

October 30, 2008 at 3:45 am (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , )

Zimbabwe Pastor’s Prayer!!! Amazing!!!

I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
I have the Holy Spirit power.
The die has been cast.
I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made -
I’m a disciple of His.
I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure.
I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded.
I now live by faith, lean in His presence, walk by patience, am uplifted by prayer, and I labor with power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions are few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the enemy, pander at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus.
I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till he stops me. And, when he comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me…. my banner will be clear!
